Should We Compare Our Education to Another Country?

Poverty may not be complete to resolved, but poverty can still be prevented and improved. The answer to this number one world problem is in the quality of education.

In fact, education could change everything. From bigger things like the success of humankind to fly a car into space--- to technology, you used to read this article right now.

Do you think that Indonesia has become a country with a good enough education?

If you are an Indonesian, and get an education in Indonesia, 

let's just look around you. From the quality of human resources, life expectancy, GDP (gross domestic product), infrastructure development, and most important thing Is our society happy?

#1. Singapore 


With a score of 0.768, Singapore not only has one of the best quality education systems in the SEA but also the world. At present, the island nation occupies ninth position in the UNESCO Educational Index.


#2. Brunei Darussalam 



With an EDI Education Index value of 0.692, Brunei Darussalam is ranked 30th in the world and number two in Southeast Asia. Not surprisingly, the article of the Brunei government covers all the costs of education, including the cost of lodging, food, books, and transportation.


#3. Malaysia 



With an adult literacy rate of 94%, it is not surprising that Malaysia is able to record a score of 0.671 in the UNDP Education Index. The neighboring country occupies the 62nd place in the list of the best education in the world and third in ASEAN.


#4. Thailand 



Thailand is one of the ASEAN countries that has the highest education budget, which is 7.6% of the Brutto Domestic Product. At present, the white elephant country occupies 89th position in the world with an EDI score of 0.608.


#5. Indonesia 



Currently, Indonesia is in 108th position in the world with a score of 0.603. In general, the quality of education in Indonesia is under the Palestine, Samoa, and Mongolia. Only 44% of the population complete secondary education. While 11% of students failed to complete their education  or leaving school.



#6. Philippines 



The failure rate of students completing school in the Philippines is among the highest in the world, which is 24.2%. No wonder the Philippines currently ranks 117th in the world with a score of 0.610. However, as many as 64% of the population at least complete junior-high school education.

In fact, the University of Indonesia - one of the best university in Indonesia, isn't ranked in the top 500 in the World. However, it still can be ranked 15th in the SEA.
